Croatian Government OSS Policy Update

Thanks to Vlatko Kosturjak, we have a summary of the Croatian governments' Open Source Policy:

  • As much as is possible government institutions will choose and/or develop Open Source solutions over closed source.
  • The goverment will support localisation of programs and solutions, and it
    will support development of closed source solutions which use open
    protocol and formats, and which are developed in Croatia.
  • The goverment will support the use of open source programs, protocols and
    formats outside of it's institutions.
  • The goverment will support use of open source solutions in educational

Croatian Government Releases Open Source Policy

On the 12th july 2006, the Croatian government released a comprehensive document covering the use of Free and Open Source Software within government bodies.

The article covering the release of the document can be found here whilst the full document can be found here. Both links are in Croatian, and as yet there doesn't appear to an english translation.
